“Everyone Loses Games. Few Change Them”

In this sports ad “Everyone Loses Games. Few Change Them”, the social group that is being aimed at is athletes that play football. The main argument in this sport ad is that even though the University of Oregon lost the BCS championship game to the University of Auburn, they don’t change their attitude towards the loss or how they are as a team. To me I do not think that this sports ad reinforces or violates cultural norms because it is not appealing to often ignore groups, or it is not appealing to the idea of rebellion. Based upon my observation I think that this sport ad was made to let people know that even though the Oregon Ducks lost the game they were fighting for the entire year, they still showed top of the line class and good sportsmanship as if they had won the BCS championship. In addition to the product of this ad this ad is selling the University of Oregon. The use of logos is to show that the Oregon Ducks have class and wont stop fighting until they win a BCS championship game. The use of pathos is that the University of Oregon may have lost, but they are going to keep prevailing.

“We Are All Witnesses”

In this sports ad “We Are All Witnesses” the image and text are saying that we are all witnesses of Lebron James talent as a professional basketball player. The main argument is that this ad uses Christian symbolism. It uses Christian symbolism by saying how people look up to Lebron James as Jesus. He also holds his arms out as if he is being crucified like Christ was on the cross. To me I do not think that this sports ad reinforces or violates cultural norms because it is not appealing to often ignored group or is not appealing to the idea of rebellion. In addition to the product of this ad, it is selling entertainment in the NBA because Lebron James is an NBA player and if you have watched him play, you know he is a good entertainer. This ad also shows the use of religious symbolism. Based upon my observation I think this sports ad was made for those of Lebron James fans and fans of those who like the NBA. The use of logos in this sports ad is that we all witness and know the ability and talent that Lebron James has as a professional basketball player. Also we know how people look up to him as if he was Jesus. The use of pathos in this ad is how he uses his body language. It shows how he has control and is in full power like he’s Jesus.

“Can’t Wait For The Season To Get Started”

In this sports ad “Can’t Wait For The Season To Get Started” the image and text are saying how this Arabians can’t wait for the FIFA soccer season to start up. The main argument in this sport ad is that the sport of soccer, is becoming a worldwide sport. In which countries across the world are participating in. To me I do not think that this sport ad reinforces or violates cultural norms. In addition to the product of this ad. This ad is selling humor to me. It’s selling humor because Americans don’t usually see Arabian soccer fans. This sports ad also shows entertainment in the soccer category because the text says, “ Can’t Wait for The Season To Get Started.” This shows that they are interested in soccer and can’t wait for the season to start up again. Based upon my observation I think this sport ad was made to tell the world that even though we come from different cultural backgrounds, we all have similarities such as soccer. The use of logos in this sports ad is that how the Arabians are ready for the FIFA soccer season to start up again. The pathos in this sport ad is how the fans are anxious for the FIFA soccer season to start up for as there are already waiting in the seats.
