In this sports ad “Everyone Loses Games. Few Change Them”, the social group that is being aimed at is athletes that play football. The main argument in this sport ad is that even though the University of Oregon lost the BCS championship game to the University of Auburn, they don’t change their attitude towards the loss or how they are as a team. To me I do not think that this sports ad reinforces or violates cultural norms because it is not appealing to often ignore groups, or it is not appealing to the idea of rebellion. Based upon my observation I think that this sport ad was made to let people know that even though the Oregon Ducks lost the game they were fighting for the entire year, they still showed top of the line class and good sportsmanship as if they had won the BCS championship. In addition to the product of this ad this ad is selling the University of Oregon. The use of logos is to show that the Oregon Ducks have class and wont stop fighting until they win a BCS championship game. The use of pathos is that the University of Oregon may have lost, but they are going to keep prevailing.
